Maps & Locations

The Lord of the Rings: Conquest will feature numerous different maps or locations. These are assumed to all be playable in the singleplayer/co-op campaign, and both the offline and online gameplay modes. A list of maps can be seen below:

  • The Shire

  • Weathertop

  • Rivendell

  • Moria

  • Isengard:

Isengard is one of the great fortresses of Middle-earth built by the Númenórians - the predecessors of the Gondorians. It guards the fords of the river Isen, on the border of Rohan and Eriador. Isengard was once a green and pleasant place, until Saruman betrayed the Gondorians from whom he received the key to Orthanc, the citadel of Isengard. Now, Isengard is a heavily fortified stronghold of the enemy, as Saruman moves to claim the ring for his very own.

  • Helms Deep

  • Minas Tirith:

Minas Tirith, originally built as a fortress rather then a city, became the capital of Gondor shortly after the destruction of most of Osgiliath. The city is made out of 6 different levels, each protected by a seperate wall as well as gates. The outer wall is impenetrable, and the gate will not succomb to anything less then the weapon we know as “Grond” used by the Enemy. In the films, Minas Tirith is protected by trebuchets fitted on its towers.

  • Pellenor Fields:

The Pellenor fields are the townlands and fields of Minas Tirith. During the War of the Rings, the siege and subsequent battle for Minas Tirith largely took place on Pellenor fields. Théoden, King of Rohan died on this battlefield as his army of Rohirrim rushed to Gondors’ aid.

  • Osgiliath

  • Black Gate

The Black Gate is playable twice in the campaigns, first: you participate in the legendary Battle of the Last Alliance at the end of the Second Age. It was here that Sauron was defeated, and the one ring was taken by Isildur. At the closing stages of the campaign, you will fight here once again for the survival of man, while Frodo attempts to destroy the One Ring.

  • Mount Doom

  • Minas Morgul

  • Bree

  • Gap of Rohan

  • Shelob’s Lair

  • Cirith Ungol
