Gimli is one of the main characters in the Lord of the Rings, and the only main dwarf character outside of The Hobbit. Gimli is the son of Gloin, one of the dwarf conspirators in The Hobbit. Gimli is known for his ferocious fighting, and that he never lets his size make him any less of a fighter.

Gimli is one of the strongest, as far as brute force goes, fighters of all the heroes in The Lord of The Rings. In combat he uses his axe with deadly efficiency and wears heavy armor.
