Answers
What consoles will the game be released on?
The game will be available for the PC, Xbox 360, PS3, and the Nintendo DS.
When will it be released?
It’s currently scheduled for a release in Fall 2008.
So what is the game like?
There is no short answer to this question. Check out our here or continue reading the FAQ!
What are the minimum specs for the PC version?
A lot of us would like to know, but Pandemic has not released any word on this yet.
Will this game have classes?
Yes! There will be four classes: the Warrior, Scout, Mage and Archer.
Can I upgrade my character?
Players will only be able to acquire better skills and such during the battle themselves. If you die or leave the game, you lose your character enhancements.
What battlefields will I be able to fight on?
Here is the list of locations we have thus far:
Shire
Weathertop
Rivendell
Moria
Isengard
Helms Deep
Minas Tirith
Pelennor Fields
Osgilliath
Minas Morgul
Mount Doom
Black Gate
What game modes can we expect?
There are two linear campaigns for good and evil, that are playable both in Singleplayer as well as Co-op multiplayer. There are a number of other “Instant Action” modes, that are playable in single-player, split-screen and online play. There is deathmatch, hero-deathmatch as well as ‘conquest’ which is similar to that in Battlefront where you have to capture and hold certain parts of the map. And then there’s a mode called ‘Ring Bearer’ where one player is the Nazgul and the other is Frodo, and the Nazgul needs to capture the ring.
What about multiplayer?
All the above modes will be available in multiplayer. Only 16 human players are allowed in a game, however.
Only 16 players? Won’t battles be a bit small?
Not exactly. The human players are just a small but important part of battles of up to 150 (AI controlled) men.
Will I be able to play as Aragorn or Gandalf?
Yes! The game will offer a number of very powerful heroes to play as. In certain battles you can pick up a hero to defeat an enemy such as the Balrog - but in others - you have to first earn your marks on the battlefield before you are allowed to get inside on of the heroes!
What about the evil heroes?
You can play with heroes such as Sauron, the Balrog and the Ringwraiths on the evil side!
Are there mounts? Can I fly!?
There are a number of in-game ‘vehicles’ you can use. Some of these are siege equipement such as Catapults or Rams, but also think about units such as ents, horses, wargs and the likes! You cannot fly, however. It is possible to call in help from your flying allies - the eagles for the good side an the fellbeast on the evil side.
