At the beginning of a game of Conquest, you are prompted to pick a class from a ‘carousel’. As you earn your marks on the battlefield, you will be able to unlock one of the heroes such as Gandalf or the Balrog. These heroes are the key leaders and participants in the War of the Ring, and have extraordinary abilities. Each hero is coupled with the specific map that you are playing on, meaning that it does not matter what class you are playing as: everyone plays as the same hero.
