After bringing never before seen attention to New Zealand and to the Lord of the Rings franchise, Peter Jackson has been knighted by the Queen of England, New Zealand's head of state.

Right but why would that be worth knighthood? The films are great but I dont think being a great entertainer is worth knighting.

The Lord of the Rings was the best selling trilogy of all time. Further more, it was filmed in New Zealand. It gave New Zealand attention.
