War Of The Silmarils - Middle-earth Center Forums

War Of The Silmarils is a modification for BFME2, based on J.R.R Tolkiens epic tale The Silmarillion. It adds 6 new factions, as well as a brand new campaign. The factions it adds are:

Teleri - A faction based around ambushing and naval warfare
Noldor - A faction based around powerful units and heroes
Edain - A turtling faction with very cheap defences
Dwarves - A faction that excels in melee combat
Angband - Spamming faction with lots of powerful monsters and heroes
Easterlings - A faction with lots of cheap heroes and units and a very versatile army

Here are some screenshots of the now complete Teleri faction:

Lúthien using her Song Of Tinúviel ability to blast back some enemy archers. Although this ability does do damage, it is mainly useful for scaring away enemy armies

Thingol alongside the valiant Swordsmen of Doriath

Well we also have a special treat for everyone here at MEC. To celebrate Modding Open Day we have decided to release a public beta. This beta contains a fully playable Teleri faction, as well as a half-playable Angband faction. We tried to iron out as many bugs as we could, but some things we haven't been able to fix yet. As such Angband does not have their full arsenal of heroes available to them. Well heres the download link:

War Of The Silmarils Public Beta

To install it place the Silmarillion folder into your main hard drive. Then copy and paste your original BFME2 shortcut, adding the following to the end of the Target box:

Code:

 -mod"C:\Silmarillion"

But replace C with the hard drive where you installed the mod. If you have any problems installing then post here and we'll try to help you.

Though I'm a bit dissapointed that the heroes and the Doriath swordsmen wears 2nd and 3rd age elven armour... But it's your choice of design
