War in the North gameplay demo at PAX

I had the opportunity to go to the Penny-Arcade Expo (PAX) over the weekend to take a look at Snowblind's Lord of the Rings: War in the North. Snowblind has taken a new direction with this game -- it's the first M-rated Lord of the Rings video game -- and let me tell you, they're doing an excellent job of it.

They showed us a gameplay demo, and I also had a chance to ask some questions, so first I'll go over the demo and then I'll list the other random tidbits I learned. Unfortunately I wasn't able to get any decent pictures, so I'll sprinkle in some screenshots from our image gallery to show a little of what I'm talking about.

Middle-Earth Amnesia

Im afraid that when I got into a wreck this morning- lets say it was a long story but the girl down the street isn't happy- I got hit pretty badly in the head and have forgotten... or wait what did I forget?

But this site faintly reminds me of the piled maps on my desk, the random assortment of books labeled with "J.R.R. Tolkien," and the incessant attempts of my friends to converse with me about "LOTR." All too conveniently (I know its crazy right?) the speech and linguistic sections of my Cerebral cortex (as the doctors said,) have remained largely undamaged and thus, I am able to type.

This is a LOTR related site right?

Anyhow, I found a quiz page open in safari (must have been the other day), and need to know a few other things.

1. Eru Illuvatar- WTF? Who is this guy, and what puts him above the Valar?
2. Frodo Baggins- Name sounds English, but where is he from?
3. Roman Senate- Found an invitational on my desk for some random convention. Bunch of guys dressed in purple-striped togas. Does this correlate to Middle-Earth?
4. Finwe- Who is this guy?
5. The Rings of Power- How do they work, why doesn't my ring, labeled with this strange inscription, do anything significant? I have found a similar inscription within my LOTR Book:

And thirdly, or was it sixthly? I found a pic of this one chick on level 1 of the safari quiz:

I have NO idea who the hell she is but she looks pretty hot :geek:
Any ideas?

I'll present my arguments a little later.
For now, let us say I don't agree entirely with the mainstream belief that democracy is best.

Quality of Life in Middle Earth

What do you believe the quality of life was like in Middle Earth? By that I mean to ask, what would you think the life expectancy be, the quality and quantity of food, type of housing, general happiness of the people. Obviously, this might vary from region to region.

[Question] Alatar and Pallando (The blue wizards)

Hello:)I was wondering if anyone knew for certain what happened to the blue wizards; Alatat and Pallado. They went into the east, but never came back. Some people say they were corrupted by Sauron and the men of the east, and some say they were killed. On the battle for middle earth rise of the witch king RJ mod, they are heroes for the Men of The East, obviously suggesting that they were corrupted. Also, if they were corrupted, then only Gandalf truly did his task, and surely the Valar would have chosen some more loyal Istari.:ehh:I am entirely certain that their are lots of tolkein related errors here to do with the Istari, please correct me.:-^
