Interesting, I figured they were probably going to do some sort of prologue again since the story is likely to involve Sauron/the Necromancer and the audience would also need to realize that this would take part a long time before the LotR trilogy. Seems like a good way to do it ;)

Arvedui:

A good decision, no doubt. :) I think its a great way to tie things into the trilogy made almost a decade ago.

Cheeky Hobbit:

Interesting narrative device; it could potentially work really well.

guilemaster:

Wow that's a fantastic idea! It'll give the story a great sense of connection to the trilogy.

Dante:

I like the idea. I just hope that the films wont go back and forth between "present day" and the actual movie that often.

I like it, it's interesting to know. It's a good idea.

Ooo this is a really interesting way to start it off and I like including Frodo. It will be good for those who aren't fans of the books and don't know that this came before the Lord of the Rings.

patzo3000:

It works for me. It will help make people understand that this is a prequal. Hopefully there won't be much so the film will mostly stand on it's own to hobbit feet.

Also Elijah really hasn't aged much.:O

Yams In a can:

This sets the movie perfectly. It was a children's book, so it seems to make sense that it would be presented in the "being told the book" format...

Yea I totally agree! It just fits so well!

There is a slight difference. Elijah puts him in a wristlock first before dropping him down.

hjuy.gftr:

Sorry but I'm not familiar with the Elijah experience but the Stroke is just a forward Russian Leg Sweep and nothing more.
