The team behind the Third Age Total War have prepared a wonderful preview for the upcoming faction, Arnor. The update which is coming soon, will feature Arnor which has held a special place in many people’s hearts. Arnor saw a glorious rise and a sad fall as the northern kingdom of men crumbled into ruin, in part due the fighting amongst themselves.  With the new faction several new units are being released including: Tharbad Guardsmen, Tharbad Mariners, Cardolan Longspearmen, Cardolan Sentries, and Cardolan Lancers.

An brief description about the Cardolan faction as well as images of the new units can be found below.

Genera Info
Cardolan was founded in T.A. 861 by the Second Son of King Earendur of Arnor, in the same time that the Kingdoms of Arthedain Rhudaur were established from his brothers.
It was the largest, in area and pupulation, of the Successor Kingdoms of Arnor, but it’s folk was composed mostly by Middle Men, with a Dunedain Royality and many mixed people. It’s most important cities were Tharbad and Tyrn Gorthad, a great River Port in the Shores of Gwathlo (greyflood) and a Citadel founded upon the graves of the Edainic people of Eriador in the previous Ages.
Its land was mostly the plains of Minhiriath, whose forests were put on fire in the War of Sauron and Elves, back in the Dark Years, and its borders are the Rivers Gwathlo and Mitheithel to the East, Baranduin to te West and the Great East Road to the North.
Militarily, it’s terrain favored the training of Cavalry, but still its Princes were able to field strong infantrymen, and capable archers. It’s the closest ally of Arthedain to the North, the other Faithful ex-Numenorean Kingdom of former Arnor, and fight against the Evil Men and the renegades of Rhudaur, who are supported by the newly established Realm of Angmar, lead by the fell Witch King.

Ilaras of The Dunedain:

The Centuries look awesome! I like the spear and bow combo.

Freek:

This is for a sub mod actually, not the main mod. The main mod is introducing a rehashed Eriador in 1.5, which is able to transform into a new Arnor if the player chooses to do so.

olaf bloodaxe:

love the spear men!!!
