Song of Númenor written by MirkwoodArcher
There was a city long ago
Which on the Great Sea did glow
A place of wealth and very fair
It was no home for Evil’s lairUntil one day when ships set sail
Whose masters sought the truth of tale
A tale that told of lands undying
Where men could be saved from death and cryingThe king Ar-Pharazôn rallied a fleet
To walk on the Lands with unwelcome feet
But his sinful desire brought much doom
And cast upon his people eternal gloomFor when Manwë saw the armada there
He called upon Ilúvatar, his power to share
And Ilúvatar threw down fair Númenor
Which now is gone forevermoreO, Númenor, is gone from us
And we are left with less
If only in memory we may remember
We will not soon forget.
