With a number of new Lord of the Rings game on the horizon, Middle-earth Center is in need of new staff members to ensure our growth in the future. As such, we need a number of ‘editors’, a job previously called newsposter, which entails not only posting news, but also editorials and other articles for people to discuss. Subjects to cover:
You may pick one or more of these subjects to cover. Please include the subject(s) you wish to cover in your PM!!
- The Hobbit/The Hobbit 2 films & General LotR news/lore
- Lord of the Rings fan gaming projects (mods for Lord of the Rings games and mods for non-Lord of the Rings games)
- Lord of the Rings official games (Lord of the Rings Aragorn’s Quest, WBIE projects)
Responsibilities:
- Creating and updating information pages for one or more of the subjects specified above.
- May be required to upload new content to the image gallery.
- Finding, Posting and publishing news for one or more of the subjects specified above.
- Can be expected to write game or lore-related articles per request.
Requirements:
Candiates should have….
- A strong passion for the Lord of the Rings.
- Good writing skills.
- Good to Excellent grammatical skills.
- Willingness and ability to spend significant amounts of time on the position where and when required.
- Willingness and ability to be responsible for content produced.
- Ability to take initiative and take action.
Notes:
- It is not a “copy-paste” function, copying content from other sites could be considered plagiarizing and is strictly prohibited.
- Candidates should be able to write articles and content that is understandable for other users.
- Candidates carry responsibility for the content they produce: proper sourcing, grammar and correct information are key.
- Editors will be working extensively using the web-based software Wordpress, to produce and publish content.
- ONLY candidates aged 16 years or older will be considered.
ALL staff positions on Middle-earth Center are VOLUNTARY. All staff is motivated by a strong sense of responsibility and passion for the position they fill.
