Many sources are reporting that the hobbit movie is being pushed back by one year, going from the scheduled release of 2011 to 2012.

Good news is that this is a false rumour that has spread across the net. The guys over at theonering.net have a posted confirmation from the highest source, the director of the film, Guillermo del Toro, that this rumour is completey false and we do not need to worry.

hmmm...very nice interview

Alindur:

Good thing that the rumour is falsed, but I wouldn't be bothered if it was true either. The more time they have, the bigger chance is that the movie will be better tbh.

Argetlam:

Yeah, not really to psyched about it right now so doesn't really matter to me if the do end up pushing it back a year right now.

Nazzie:

I'm not sure if proving a rumor false needed to be put on the front page but this is gratifying knowing that it is actually doing well enough to be assured that there will be no delay. Not that I will be surprised when the inevitable delay comes up but hey who am I to complain?

Balin38:

For me to be satisfied with this movie, they would need to keep all of the actors from the Lord of the Rings that have their characters here as well (Gandalf, Elrond, Bilbo, perhaps even Legolas in the Mirkwood Dungeon section)

Freek:

Bilbo is a lot younger in the Hobbit, so I dont see how they can include Ian Holm. But most actors have said to be willing to reprise their role. Ian McKellen (Gandalf) has already been confirmed to reprise his role.

Balin38:

I suppose, but then he did do that 5 second segment in Fellowship of the Ring in the form of a flashback to Gollum's cave. Well as long as they get an actor who is reminiscent of him ill be happy.
