UPDATE: These are the recommended specifications, not the minimal system requirements!
Pandemic’s Sledgehammer has announced the minimal system requirements for the Lord of the Rings: Conquest on the PC. Compared to some other PC games they seem to be on a similar level, but they will still be quite heavy for most of our members:
System Requirements
===================Lord of Lord of The Rings: Conquest™ requires at least the following:
FOR WINDOWS XP SP2 or Windows Vista
* 2.4 GHz Core Duo processor or equivalent
* 1 GB RAM
* A 256 MB Video Card, with support for Pixel Shader 3.0 – nvidia 7800 or equivelent
* The latest version of DirectX 9.0c
* A DirectX 9.0c compatible sound card
* At least 6 GB of hard drive space for installation.
If you don’t know if your system will handle the game or need advice, feel free to sound off in the comments thread below!

Damn...
3.2GHZ Processor, single core I think though
1 GB RAM
128MB nVidia FX Go5100, no pixel shader support afaik (it didn't before it was replaced as I couldn't run COD4)
DirectX 9.0c and plenty of hard-drive space as I've just reformatted (only 30GB left though and I haven't installed BFME yet).
Oh well, I can still get it for my home pc (which could run COD4), but will have to wait for holidays to play it (am at uni rest of the time).
Freek:
Heh, a GO5100 isn't going to be able to run any new game... I should be able to run this on my laptop, but I was going to get it for my PS3 either way.
m@tt:
It can run Steam (Half-life etc) games absolutely fine, but considering it's now 4 years old it's not surprising. I'm gonna get a new laptop next Christmas once Windows 7 comes out.
krapyl:
yaaay...i can run it on the highest i think sience this is the specs you need :)
drenth:
ive got a dell vostro 200 and i know ive got enough space 130 gb en a good videocard, nvidea 9800 512, but my proccessor is 1.80 ghz? should i not buy it?
Freek:
What processor is it? Pentium 4, Pentium Dual Core, or Core 2 Duo?
TokyoBlade:
My pc wouldn't be able to play this on max... I don't care though, I'm getting it for ps3 anyway :P
drenth:
its a proccesor intel celeron inside, cant see how many core's
roytjuh:
I can play it (3GB ram and 8600GS), but my CPU-speed is just 2.0Ghz on a Core 2 Duo (notebook) :p. That aren't very high specs, i was tinking that they would be higer.
Heron:
Yeah, you'd need a new processor, drenth.
Next year I'm building from scratch a brand-new Core i7 system with 6GB RAM (maybe 12GB?) and an nVidia GeForce GTX 280 (or something similar). I think I'll be able to handle Conquest ;)
Ayodon:
well its alot lower than I thought it would be :P
Tyrnat:
Should be able to max it out with no difficulties. But Im getting it for PS3 regardless.
drenth:
sooo just because my proceessor is 1.80 ghz ive got to get a brand new compuiter, but pes 2009 works fine just like sw empire at war, and fallout 3 so i dont know.
Freek:
roytjuh:
Yeah, I see. I though that they were saying a Core 2 Duo :P.
drenth:
I dont know, where does it says how many core's you have,
could someone tell me?
Illuminatio:
I have a Nvidia Geforce 7650 GS, but with Shader Model 3.0, so can i play the game then or not? :(
Freek:
It needs a 7800 or equivalent, which yours is not (it's slower). You could try running the game, but it won't be fast.
You can find out what your processor type, memory and more is by going to Start -> Run -> Enter 'dxdiag' -> Copy/Take a picture of the "System Information"
(Enter 'dxdiag' in the "Start search" box in the start menu if you have Windows Vista)
drenth:
ok thanks
krapyl:
drenth:
yeah i thougt that, but to be sure because ive got only 1.80ghz, thanks
roytjuh:
drenth:
fallout 3 works perfect, but my computer jhas just 180 ghz,
Illuminatio:
Freek:
sledge now says these are th recommended specs rather then the minimum reqs. ill try to get them both for you guys...
Tyrnat:
1.8 ? thats rather ancient. I suggest a new one quickly.
Freek:
1.8ghz isnt slow for a Core 2 Duo, my laptop (which is brand new) "only" has 2.0 ghz :)
Gediminas:
Cool. I can play this game. Maybe not a max graphic, but game should work fine maybe. I have dual core processor, 2 GB ram and GeForce 8800GTS 320 mb video card.
Tyrnat:
Ah thought he had a single.
Illuminatio:
Freek said that someone else said (you following me?) that these requirements are the recommended requirements, so if you have a 8800 you can prob play it at max. It does makes sense, since i can play Fallout 3 (wich is harder to play then this game by many ppl), but not this game...
HMMcKamikaze:
If 7800 is recommended then I might be able to play this on my computer. Though, I'm not entirely sure what my 8400 is actually capable of.
Freek:
Its not top of the line by any means, but you'll probably be able to run it past medium. The best way to tell would be a PC demo :)
wowfanatic:
this is sorta off topic but whats the diff between pentium dual core and core 2 duo?
Freek:
A Core 2 Duo is faster :) Pentium Dual Cores were phased out a few years back.
wowfanatic:
ok thanks thatll help me when im picking out a laptop. I will go with either core 2 duo or centrino 2 then, which ever is better for gaming..
Lord Aragorn of Gondor:
I've only got:
AMD Athlon 64 Processor 3300+ 2.4Ghz
A nVidia Geforce 6800 OC AGP graphics card with 128GB of Memory
1.5 GB of RAM
Direct X 9.0C
Plenty of Hard Drive Space
I guess I can't run it without upgrading my graphics card. They no longer produce AGP cards anymore, so the best I can get is a Geforce 7800 AGP. Is it worth it?
Freek:
These are reccomended spec. Not minimum.
Lord Aragorn of Gondor:
If those are the recommended requirements, what are the minimum? Will a nVidia Geforce 6800 run the game?
Freek:
Pandemic hasn't published those yet. It might run it, but if it does it will be on the lowest setting possible. The rest of your system doesn't look all too fast, either, so I'd consider getting it on a console if you have one.
FaceCake:
yea, that's why i like my 360. I dont need to worry about system requirements. Although i do wish i had an epic computer. My dream is to just walk into a store, get all the top of the line hardware, and swipe my debit card. Ive customized a few computers on alienware, and they have gone up to about 22,000$ lol.
Lord Aragorn of Gondor:
Thanks, I don't have a console unfortunately, just my PC which I got a few years back. It also doesn't help that I'm extremely low on cash. Sad, I was looking forward to this game. I think I'll just try and upgrade my video card. It's also strange that they haven't released the minimum requirements about 1 week before the game will be released.
Mithrandir7:
I could easily get this for PC and play at max settings, but since I own a console I see no point. There is always a potential for graphic lag on PCs
Lord Aragorn of Gondor:
How's this for a video card, will it run the game well? It looks good.

Ah, I see you need an AGP card, well that 3850 is the best AGP card that has and ever will be made so that's really all you can upgrade to.
Lord Aragorn of Gondor:
Does anyone know how to determine how much power your PC's system has? I know I have at least 300W but most new cards seem to need at least 400W. How can I check this. Upgrading - A never ending problem.
Goose:
Ok i have:
3.00 proccessor
510 MB RAM
128 MB RADEON 9200 PRO video card
and 80 GB.
If i delete/uninstall a game, will i get more memory for RAM and video card?
Oh, and Lord Aragorn, try to do start---> run--> "dxDiag" i don't know if power is in there but it is worth a try. has a lot of specs on your pc
Lord Aragorn of Gondor:
Found this on Future Shop's website. They may be the minimum specs or simply a misprint.
SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS:
- Optical Drive: CD/DVD Drive
- CPU Speed: 933MHz
- Disk Space: 2GB
- Graphics: AGP video card with 64 MB or more of memory + NVIDIA GeForce 3 or greater or a ATI Radeon 8500 or greater
- Memory (RAM): 256MB or more
- Operating System Compatability: MS Windows 98, ME, 2000, XP; Not Mac compatible

Goose - Deleting or uninstalling games only frees up the hard drive. RAM is only used by programs currently running and video card memory is completely diffrent. I woud buy an extra gig of RAM, it would be pretty cheap. I'm in the same situation with the video card. Be careful when upgrading your video card, newer models might require more power than your PC can supply which means you'd have to upgrade your power too. I'm hoping that the specs above are the REAL ones and not a mistake.
Goose:
How do I buy RAM?
Lord Aragorn of Gondor:
This site will tell you what you need and you can even buy your RAM there. If not, take note of the EXACT type you need. Just click on scan my system.

Hope this helps. I upgraded my RAM from 512MB to 1536MB last summer, it's really worth it. Cost me about $50.00 Canadian and it speeds your PC up quite a bit.
Lord Aragorn of Gondor:
2.4 GHz Core Duo processor or equivalent
Does this mean you need a 2.4 GHz processor or 4.6GHz processor? I only have a single core AMD Athlon 64 2.4 GHZ processor. Is this enough?
Thanks.
