In the spirit of christmas, EA has released a online demo of its upcoming game the Lord of the Rings: Conquest for PC, PS3 and Xbox 360. They are available for download at the Playstation store. The xbox and PC demos are yet to be confirmed as released, so please keep your eyes peeled in the coming hours.
Update: The PlayStation 3 demo weighs in at 1.3GB and features the tutorial along with two multiplayer maps: Minas Tirith and the Shire. Both maps are only playable in the 16-player online Conquest mode.

As of now only the PS3 version is released due to Sony's holiday policy (Which is they release they're Store updates on the Tuesday of said week instead of Thursday). Therefore I would expect the other versions to come on Thursday which is the usual Marketplace update.
I must say though that this is a certainly a nice early Christmas treat for PS3 owners

In UK - PS Store updates are every thursday (on mine, at least :P). And the 360 updates whenever it feels like :P (or seems to, doesn't seem to be a set day to update - I always see new demos released whenever)

The Marketplace doesn't have a set day for updates; it released demos and such any time it likes. A demo of the game Legendary was released today, so there's every chance that the Conquest demo will be released today on Marketplace as well. ;)

The good side hero for Minas Tirith is gandalf as well. I got to play as him :) Basically a Warrior/Mage hybrid class.

You mean the combo's? No, because the other combo buttons are used for his mage spells. But if you hit the square button a bunch of times you do get a powerful attack. Check out the moves list I posted :)

It is SO satisfying to burn down farms and homes in the Shire...but those Hobbits are so irritating because they are hard to hit with arrows. Backstabbing is annoying to do, but satisfying to SOMEHOW KILL SAURON WITH A BACK STAB IN ONE HIT ON THE TUTORIAL LEVEL, but he only explodes if you kill him with Isildur. : ()
With Scouts, there are several ways to get them out of their cloak
Mage: If you see one cloaking nearby another enemy, lightning bolt them so that they get chained.
Warrior: If they are close, L1 + [] will dash at them and attack
Scout: They are fast enough to catch up to another scout to back stab them while they are cloaking
Archer: Use the Triple Shot (L1) and it will auto-target them and hit them to get them out of cloaking.
REMEMBER THAT
Unfortunately, all classes can be cheap, but ironically, it makes them evenly powered

Ive been collecting data on when demo's are released on a certain date from when the actual game is out. Ive found that left 4 dead demo was released about 1 week before actual game and i have more but I conclude that its a 37.4% chance that the conquest demo will be released before 1 week of the actual game. Therefore the demo should be released on January 3rd through 5th at anytime so pray it will come out before :)

Well Pandemic must have made some type of deal with Sony to give them an early demo. In my experience, one week tends to be the normal release date for a demo. It varies obviously, but not by much.

Sony doesn't make deals for multi-platform games or third-party publishers. Sony has publicly stated that they would much rather spend their money making awesome 1st party titles instead of securing exclusive DLC or buying a 360 exclusive.
This is my explanation for why the 360 demo has been delayed. EA loves the PS3 more then the 360. If you've been watching them all year you can not deny. Basically all of their present games and future games are gonna start development on the PS3. The EA developers have even stated that its far easier to create a game on the PS3 and then port it to the 360. Also if you look at their record now you can clearly see that the PS3 is more favorable. They're giving PS3 versions of games exclusive DLC without Sony even asking for it. And they're also trying to get games from their in-studio developers to make PS3 ports (Bioware and Valve).
EA obviously decided to release the PS3 version of Conquest first because they prefer they system more then MS's.

Developers just turn their back to the PC gamers, for example, Rockstar: their GTA franchise was made popular and great on the PC and when they have a huge community they release the PC version a few months later (San Andreas)? Its a blast! I was hoping for AI in online matches. The maps are really small for supposedly being "huge" as they were said tyo be. I figured minas tirith would be the biggest map but its really quite small.
I HATE EA for their online match searching. Half the time it says the server is full when i go to quick match. Dont know why they couldnt just use Xbox Live.

Do you think the minas tirth map is the full thing because there is a barrier at the start of the good camp, but it probably is the full thing. I think they kept it small to make sure that you are always close to the action, but a bigger map would have been better, it is the biggest building that will be in the game after all.
Am i wrong in saying that the shire is actually bigger than minas tirth (in playable area)?

Yeah, this demo is definitely the most important thing in my life. You can tell by my complete absence from the Pandemic forums and horrifically spotty activity at MEC. And in my three years of activity on these forums I had no idea there was no language filter.
