The guys over at TenTonHammer recently sat down for a Q&A with Lord of the Rings Online Executive Producer Jeffrey Steefel about the upcoming expansion for the game, as well as the up and coming fee content updates, Books 13 and 14.
The result is some very exiting information on the updates, as well as the reasoning behind using the Mines for the expansion, as well as why they’re using Forochel for book 13. There’s a bit too much to explain in text, so just check out the video below:
Mines of Moria is currently in development by Turbine, inc. And is expected to launch in fall this year.

This is an awesome video. Makes me really want Moria NOW.
Freek:
Well, Book 13 sounds pretty good too, with the frost damage and all. Hopefully this evironmental influence on your character is going to be featured in other (future) regions as well. I can imagine the red pass featuring periodic blizzards that slow you down, for example.
zach:
That would be awesome. Yea the environment had lots of effects on the fellowship and its nic to have lotro show some of those.
SoraStrife:
Well, with the info we have on book 13 now, its become knowns its basically going to be solo leveling material for the same levels as East Angmar, so 45-50. Loremasters are getting themselves a new pet, and there will be a new rep based armor set.
zach:
Cool, i like solo stuff!
SoraStrife:
Well, its caused a bit of rabba rabble in that a great deal of people are DONE leveling, and therefore leveling material is worthless to them. They want more endgame material, and something other than raids.
